Can someone tell me how does the PX100 bass compare to the DT880/DT990 bass (old models)? Thomann.de still hold some of the older models and Im interested in purchasing before they run out of stock.

From my short experience I recommend the MS-1 as an upgrade from your px100's. I started out with the px100's, then bought SR60's. From the U2 it has tighter bass but brighter and more 'congested' sound. In any case I liked the Grado sound so I grabbed an MS-1 (with modded HD414 pads) and I'm amazed at the SQ. I haven't heard a DT990 but I wonder how it sounds from the U2 unamped??

It's not gonna be connected to my U2, the PX100 stays there for the time being

I already purchased the (older) DT880 and EMU0404 and my wallet thanks me for being alot lighter now :|

I half agree with this. The bass doesn't get good for me till the RS-2. Anything below that is kinda on the high side.
