i am looking at the sr60/ms1/or senn 515 or 555....these are all mid-range cost. what would you suggest out of all these for an mp3 player (i don't wanna have to use an amp). also, i have a zen micro. any advice will be appreciated, even if it's another set all together. TIA!

i've been reading tons posts for the past couple hours and have heard everything. now, i just wanna make up my mind.

A good sounding set that has high volume and clarity with nice solid bass. not too expensive. all kinds of music will be listened to, except country.

Try Audio Technica ATH-A500. It's very versatile and fairly descent even if driven directly from mp3 players (i.e., no amp).

You could look into the akg k240s. Its a fun, euphonic phone.

edit- oops, if you don't want to use an amp, go sr60.
