Does touching the foam part in front of the drivers do anything to the sound? My ear was touching the foam part and made a little indentation. it will probably return to normal in like an hour or so but is this bad for the phones or does it affect the sound?

yea even if you depress the foam it's pretty difficult for them to touch the drivers or etc. so it won't be a problem.

I have normal/small ears and they still touch the foam of my DT880.
It would be interesting to test the K701 to see if it's similar distance.
It can be a bit annoying but not harmful.
