Let me begin by asking this post be taken in a positive light:
After trying to get answers from Ryan at Maverick and no replies to my previous post as to an amp suggestion I grabbed the HTR 6240 at Costco to see how my Senn 595's would sound using a Zen and Iphone as the source. I must say it's not to bad on my old ears though I wish it had an EQ instead of presets. (and I only screwed with it for about 20 minutes)
Now my question is will one of the dedicated "headphone amps" whether it be from Maverick, Little Dot, Ibasso, DIY, whoever sound that much better?
As posted before one of my end uses will be having a guitar effects processor with an mp3 souce plugged into it going to the amp then to the headphones for practice / recording. My processor just can't drive the 595's to my liking. Should I order a pico slim and be done? I liked the maverick because of the multiple input features.
The knowledge on this board is incredible and I am in need of your wisdom.
I've been reading the forums nightly for three weeks and the deeper I get the more unsure I am as to what purchase to make.
