Yamaha CD-S2100 VS. CD-S3000 as transport only

I am guessing by the internals if using a DAC the CD-S2100 is actually the better transport and half the price?

The 2100 has a much more rigid chassis and the same mechanism as the 3000.
Plus I assume you are paying for the analog section in the 3000 which is already outdated anyways.
Since I won't be using it, they have an open box 2100 for $1,980. I have the 3000 here. Exchange save $4,000+.
Perhaps actually get a better transport to boot. Or at least equal. Anyone know about this?

There is no AES/EBU on either. No worries I have a super high end 75ohm cable.
Since I have over 75,000 CD's this in order. Short of $20,000 Mark Levinson I am not sure there is a better transport.
If you think something else entirely would be better please let me know what you think of.

Interestingly enough it was my Mark Levinson 390s that died, prompting me to purchase this. Don't doubt these are serious stuff.
Where did you get your information claiming the S2100 is "much more rigid" than the S3000? I've seen nothing in the specs or any reviews supporting this claim. For $3000 more, I find it hard to believe the S3000 skimps on anything.

this thread is four years old and still no new yamaha player. at this point, i would be surprised if one was forthcoming as cd and sacd, as a container, is a dead format.
