Have you tried JPlay?
 
I've looked at the whole Phasure NOS1 XXHighEnd setup and am concerned its not very easy to use and not at the moment an idiot proof system that will provide a consistent, repeatable easy to use system.  It needs to be as easy as putting a cd in a drawer and pressing play!
What happens to the system if Peter is run over by a bus tomorrow! Quite an investment up front too, but would value any comments who have used the system for a while

AAC isn't actually as good as CD's when you analyse it as its not a lossles format, the Stereophile comparison of formats is really worth a read

My Audio Note dac was better in every aspect. This was at my house with my ears. They sound a bit different though. Maybe some prefer phasure?
