Hi guys, I've been a long time reader and fan of head-fi and recently I've come to a dilemma where I thought the community may be able to give me some advice about. So the situation being, I currently own some CIEMs, IEMs and over earheadphones. (Unique Melody 3DD, Etymotics ER4-PT, and Denon D700). In the past I have been listening through my phone and through my ODAC through my PC.
I am currently looking to upgrade my portable source. Due to the convenience of phone and Spotify, I was thinking to get the Kunlun from fiio(e18) but on the other hand, the other side of me is asking if it will be better for me to get a proper DAP like the X1/3/5?
So the question being, will the SQ of X1/3/5 be better than a combination of Xperia Z2+fiio e18? and bearing in mind the earphones that I use most on the go is 3DD and etymotics.
