Ok so I just got my pair of Audeze LCD2 headphones and I'm running them with my Xonar Essence STX. Im wondering if you guys think it's worth spending $450 for the Schiit Lyr amp. Will I hear much of a difference with sound quality?

While the STX it's a capable card, with the LCD-2 there's an evident lack of bass extension, sound is not rich. How do you feel about them so far? and yes, getting a headphone amp is recommended.

well so far they sound better than anything else ive plugged into my xonar essence. including hd 650s, momentums, kef m500, hd 595, etc... (the list goes on) but for some reason i feel theyre not at their best.
