So guys building a new PC in the fall and am looking to ditch my now barely working legacy Creative card, trying to decide between the 3 options.

Essence STX II

Essence STU

Realtek ALC1150 (implemented on what will most likely be an Asus MoBo, included because onboard is now a legit option)

I will be using this mostly for gaming as well as some multimedia watching and music listening, but games are at the forefront. I will need to connect my headphones and my mic (Ultrasone Proline 2500s and a $10 3.5mm jack mic) so no fancy 7.1 setups here. Im wondering if there will be any lag in the audio or mic using the STU as it is an external device, or if there is any other issues it may cause (new to "off-board" audio solutions, trying to read up on them).

Let me know your thoughts guys, or point me in the right direction for any info on these.

Thanks,
Matt
