I am sure this used to work previously.

Can someone else try please?

If set to 96Khz, or set source as Stereo, is fine.

I am not saying I want to use 192Khz, more intrigued as to why it is no longer working and if the card is broken.

I am running Windows 8.1 beta if that makes a difference and have tried the ASUS and Unified drivers.

Thank you.

Did you disable the motherboard's on-board audio, in the BIOS?
So if you have the Xonar's Audio Channel set to 8-channel or 6-channel and set the sample rate to 192Khz, you get cracking/distortion?
But if you set sample rate to 96Khz, with Audio Channel set to 8-channel or 6-channel, no cracking or distortion?
If you set Audio Channel to 2-channel, you can set sample rate to 192Khz and there is no cracking/distortion?
And you using Win 8 Beta software.
