Xonar D1 on PCI-X 3.3v 133mhz@64 bit compatible?

I would guess it would be ok.
What the make and model number of the motherboard?

Unfortunately you cannot install PCIe cards on PCI-X slots, no matter if the PCIe card is x1, x4 or x16.

But the Xonar D1 is a PCI card, not PCI-E.

Oh lol, my bad. I was thinking of the Xonar DX :)
 
Ok, in that case, a Xonar D1 can be installed on a PCI-X slot, but by doing so there will be a system-wide clock reduction on all PCI-X connected devices, matching the performance of the PCI card.

PCI-X, I think that was one of those odd ball slots that was short lived about 10 or more years ago.

No, he should have the same output quality he would have when plugged on a PCI slot, but the cards that are plugged on other PCI-X slots will slow down to match the Xonar D1, which can mean a rather significant slowdown.
