Xitel DAC

Mastercheif,

I used to have one of these. I got it for my PC at work because the hiss from the motherboard audio was unbearable.

For $50 it's pretty good -- a huge step up from motherboard audio, that's for sure.

I wouldn't consider it a high-end DAC by any means, but it certainly does the job for the money. I think you'll be happy with it. It actually puts out enough juice to drive efficient headphones directly (like earbuds for example), but using it with an amp is much better.

My only warning is that it's the slippery-slope. I started with that, then added a small amp (airhead) and better cans (HD497), then a better amp (GL Lite), and before my wallet knew what hit it, I had the DAC-1, balanced Zu Mobius and HD650s!
