I've tried searching for the answer to this but no success

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the original SuperMacro and the LE version? Is the LE version designed for low-impedance headphones, ie IEMs, or does it refer to a feature of the amp?

Low voltage unit from what i can tell. longer battery life - more portable.

Supermacro LE is closer sounding to the supermicro and supposed to sound better with low impedence headphones (includes IEMs)
Longer battery life, but they look the same

I think it's a matter of taste..

See the second post by Dr. Xin in this thread.

As it's using a lower voltage it can use 5.5V rail-to-rail type opamps, which you can't use in the other SMIV.
