They do have gotten better after some burn in.These have great potential if you have great equalizer or DSP on phone like viperfx for android , it brings the earphones to its potential.
hi guys,
I ordered the T400 size foam earbuds from dealextreme. They fit perfectly and work very similarly to the very expensive comply tips. Just FYI.
I bought my Piston 3s here on a flash sale for 8 bucks. They're twice the price now, but 16 is still a very good price for a legit pair (edit, mobile only deal);
Hi guys, there's a few HK and China sellers on eBay which are selling the P3s for £3.19 or £3.29. Anyone know if they are legit?
Thinking of getting them from here - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stereo-Piston-3-III-In-ear-Earphone-Headphone-Headset-With-Remote-Mic-For-Xiaomi-/252076973381?hash=item3ab0f55d45
Since past few hours I've been searching for new in ear phones to buy.. I can't spend much so I came up with this budget headphone
So I just have some more questions
1. Xiaomi piston 3 or Soundmagic e10s? Saw lots of good reviews about e10s
2. Where should I buy a legit headphone for cheap price and faster delivery? I live in India. I got these few links--
Hi guys I've been using EarPods forever and was looking to switch to the Pistons 3.
I was just wondering if someone could post a quick comparison between the two regarding quality, bass, treble, noise isolation etc?
Also, is there any difference in noise quality comparing the pistons 3.0 and the youths and also the colour edition?
I lost my last pair, so I ordered a new pair of Xiaomi Piston 3s from TinyDeal (same as last time). Took a really long time to deliver this time and when they arrived, the right side was quiet. I am trying to use their customer service to get a new pair.
For now I'm using Xiaomi 2s which are very good too. I originally liked the 3s better but these are growing on me.

EarPods are great. They are a nice set of portable headphones if your ears actually fit them. I found using a really thin foam cover allowed them to get a tighter fit, more bass!
I think you will find the Piston 3s easy to wear and will be a big improvement over EarPods. You may not like the included tips and need to find sturdy aftermarket tips which are more robust and allow a better fit.
I look at EarPods as not only dark but very mid centric in that the mids is what they are good with. Pistons are maybe slightly less detailed in the midrange but have a nice over all balance where you have clean highs and lower detailed and focused bass tone. There is more definition in the bass and the sound is a little more fast than EarPods. The great thing is the Pistons play every genre of music just like the EarPods are known for doing. Both of the IEMs are jacks of all trades, as far as genre replay goes.
As far as sound quality you will enjoy a tighter more detailed bass. Gone is that fuzzy airy quality and replaced is a more focus and detailed sound field. The earbuds are actually on the dark side of flat to my ears. More dark when you put foam covers on them and get a more bass laden sound signature with tighter fit. Depending if your using a control pair that came with a phone or the audio only pair that came with an IPod, You may not like the controls. Overall the sound is just slightly mid recessed and has a good overall coherence where every instrument seems to be placed in the right tone and place. I think they are equal to some $150 headphone IEMs I have heard, but I have not heard them all. Another issue is there can be a little fraying of the cover near the plug. Like very small nylon fibers that break free. No issue with it hurting the cable process, but the fur looks a little funny after heavy use. Still you don't have to worry about an off color change like the ear buds did.
Hi, newb here. I was wondering if anyone here has been able to compare the Piston 3 to http://m.1more.com/product/getDetailed.html?nProductId=168 and http://m.1more.com/product/getDetailed.html?nProductId=218 yet? These seem to me to be newer IEM designs by "1MORE" who, afaik, are the original designers of Xiaomi's Piston line. Penonaudio is selling the model in the first link as "Xiaomi Voice China 1MORE" here - http://penonaudio.com/Xiaomi-1MORE-In-Ear?manufacturer_id=42 if anyone is interested.
Edit: I found out that iBuygou is selling both - https://www.ibuygou.com/p-1-more-black-and-red-the-voice-china-branded-piston-earphones-6721.html for the first link and https://www.ibuygou.com/p-1more-design-gold-white-piston-hd-edition-earphones-6987.html for the other.
Edit2: After some more searching around, I found out that the "Voice of China" model has the same internals as the Piston 3 - http://xiaomi.report/2015/06/novye-naushniki-xiaomi-piston-voice-of-the-china-ot-1more/. However, this isn't the case with the gold and white ones, which are apparently called "HiFi Hybrid". The HiFi Hybrid model apparently utilises a "combination of one dynamic driver and two-way balanced-armature drivers" - http://en.miui.com/thread-153790-1-1.html.
Due to the problem of the fakes, can any of you confirm if these might be original since the seller told me that.
