Finally got my 0404. I had the audigy 2 zs before that. I'm now experiencing absolute silence. With the audigy, anything past half introduces a background hiss with no audio being played. With the 0404 its about 9.5/10 before a noticeable hiss is present and even then its not to the degree the audigy was - it just starts to get noticeable. I really can't listen to anything past 6 and usually listen at around 3.
The line out on the 0404 is a little less loud than what i had the 2 channels coming from the audigy set to (usually had it set to about 80%).
Bass seems a very slight bit milder, not terribly less but there is a noticeable difference. Not sure if i was a bit much before or which is just right at this point. The higher frequencies seem a bit more defined now. This 0404 is a great card.
This is a very nice combination.
