XDUoo XD05PRO

I received the two Sparkos recently and installed them without the risers.
I have cut off and filed the pins which had contact to the capacitors.

(thanks @quaddac for the installation description some pages ago and @nioh for the general support here with the Xduoo)

I drive my iems in ECO-mode and the temperature increases slightly during battery and/or usb powered operation, but not significant. It's far away from hot after a 4h listening session.

What are your impressions about the sound before and after Sparkos? 🤔

It's a bigger step for me with Sparkos installed in the Xduoo than switching from the Cayin RU7 + Topping G5 to the Xduoo with stock amp.

The sound has even finer nuances and details, greater depth and resolution. Above all, it has a much larger stage, everything is very clear around me.

At times while listening, I wasn't sure whether individual sounds belonged to the music or were coming from the room I was sitting in.

That’s the cleanest installation of Sparkos I’ve seen so far.
Congrats !

Thank you Nioh! I had to remove the Sparkos a few times and file down the contacts until there was no contact to the capacitors anymore.

The Amp/OP unit goes in and out easily into the Xduoo when the Sparkos are fully inserted in the slots.

Finally I did the same. I just took a wire cutter and cut off the 4 edges and everything fits and works perfectly without any risers. Took me 1 try and 1 minute to do it.

Is there a reason one should cut something instead of using a riser?

Easier to insert and take it off.
Probably helps a bit with the heating too since there’s more space inside and the op-amps are not nearly touching the floor.
Last but not least, the contact pins on the op-amps are most certainly superior to the ones on the risers.

Ic, is there a before and after pic? I still am not sure what to cut off. I might get those opamps in the near future.
