I read something lately that it is quite difficult to develop a nice sounding R2R DAC, even more so in a small package. Hiby and Cayin have portable R2R but I think everything else on the market is desktop format casing and very expensive. For sure I'm hoping they succeed in making it special even if this module ends up to be a bit more expensive then the other chip based DAC modules. Better they take their time and come up with something special than rushing it just to satisfy us impatient folk!

It will take as much current as it need for own load, not more. I am using Fiio PL50 with DC -> USB-C adapter. Fiio should have about 4A on 12V max load
I have blown both fuses that came with the Fiio PL50. Initially I thought it was the problem with the DC cable, as I purchased a custom made cable terminated in USB C. When the fuse blew again, I realized it must be the fuse. I changed the fuse from 1A to 6A. I don't think that will blow any more. The PL50 is rated 110V@0.7A max. That's how much the transformer can draw from the AC. I think it would only saturate the transformer even if you short it on the DC end.

I've ordered the FIIO PL50 and IFI ipower x 12v and compared them with my xd05 pro. Although both of them gave me better SQ in ext mode compared to battery mode with my Kennerton Gjallarhorn GH50 headphones, there were absolutely no difference between the PL50 and the ipower x. So I ended up returning the FIIO linear power supply (for the price and portability)

Various attempts ~ Easily replaceable operational amplifiers and filter capacitors:beerchug:
Great job. Thanks for sharing. I understand that the solution with tables in the middle of the module only applies to pairs of single opams? Do sonic imaginery and lessfox opamps work stably? Can the unequal length of socket connections in a solution with tables placed closer to the edges of the module be important? What do CK05BX104K capacitors change?

The fourth module in picture 1 can only be connected to two single opams. The fifth module in Picture 1 is the best solution, located a little bit to the side to achieve compatibility with 99 percent of the op amp, one side pin lengthening ~The sound was barely affected . The parallel 104k(0.1uf) capacitor ~ the sound becomes more transparent, and the extension of the high and low frequencies is increased

This makes it easy to load in and close the lid :)

Sonic imaginery and lessfox opamps ~All can operate stably
