XDUoo XD05PRO

Hi everyone.
As of December 2023, I am wondering what to choose in the Audio world to connect with my computer.
After reading many topics on the forum, doing a lot of listening and comparing equipment, I have come to a very surprising conclusion to me.
I have decided to choose the xd05 Pro, based only on reviews and after reading this topic.
I hope I won't regret it, because it will be a choice really in the dark.
At a later stage I intend to buy a better IEM for it, namely the DTE900.
For this moment I would like to know if it is possible to tell from the packaging what version of XD05 PRO is inside?
I mean the revised version, the latest one?
Is the version with the orange border by the USB C for charging considered as such?
I would appreciate your help.

It's difficult to answer both questions.

The different red color of the USBc charging connector would suggest an updated version compared to the first one I purchased, but I have no official information.

However, the different charging behavior encountered by some users here would suggest an actual updated version.

As for which version you would get if you buy now, I think it depends on which vendor you use.

Maybe you could ask before buying.

I like xDuoo's products, but I wish they were a bit more transparent about hardware updates and released regular firmware updates like Fiio. There's nothing on their website indicating anything about a revised version. If there is one, it seems to have been an entirely silent production update.

I've been waiting a week for some information from the distribution in my country.
Apparently they have received a fresh shipment of XD05 Pro, but they are not sure what is inside.
They have written to the manufacturer, but no feedback.
At this point they would like to find out for themselves where they stand.
They want to sell a new product and hence are holding off on further sales, while I wait until it is available to buy.
Well, and all in all, I would not want to buy something from the beginning of production. If it is possible to buy the revised version.
Unfortunately no information from the manufacturer.
And I am almost cooked is because I would like to enjoy th

Thank you for the information.
How long ago did you buy it?
Do you think the packaging might be different from the earlier ones?
Alternatively, maybe some number by which you can deduce what period of production the device is from?

I will check how it will behave with my IEm KZ AS16, they are rather sensitive.
In the plan to buy DT900 21ohm and 110dB.

Any Sparkos op amp users out there- can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I just picked up the XD05 Pro and have been trying to use the Sparkos with it. I'm starting to convince myself that my op amps are bad. No matter what I do the amp just flashes "Protect". They look fully in place and flush with the circuit board.

I have the newer orange USB port model if that matters. Maybe it's a firmware issue? All other op amps I've tried work fine.

Hi, just happened upon this. I'm a Sparkos user with the XD05 Pro and have the same set up with the orange USB port model and it looks like you have the op amps planted correctly in the board. What displays if you take the op amp board out entirely and turn it on? Have you attempted a reinstall of the board (it's a bit tricky, I know)?

I think you should carefully and precisely grind or trim the solders of the opamps so that they do not touch the capacitors.

Guys, do units with an orange USB power port boot properly in ext mode in all gain modes? Especially in turbo mode. I have in mind a complete "new" connection, including connecting the charger to the 230V network and plugging the cable into the USB power port in ext mode and starting the xd05 pro.

You could try cutting off those pin protrusions that touch the filter capacitors:

Thanks for the tips. I don't have any clippers small enough to cut the posts down any further, but I can try to file them down with a metal file. @McPatD it still just shows Protect without the opamps. I'll let you guys know if I have any luck with it.

Install factory opamps. You can use regular nail clippers. Try to grab the pins closest to the board.

So the nail clippers worked like a charm, thanks a ton! I was able to trim them down right to the board. I also placed 2 small pieces of electrical tape on the tops of the capacitors for good measure and the Sparkos op amps fired right up!

Been listening to the XD05 Pro with my HE 1000 V2's and my goodness. It actually took a bit of time for my brain to adjust to the ultra black background, transients and insane instrument separation. I've never heard the HE 1000's sound quite so good. I don't know what kind of magic is going on, but I'd say that the Sparkos op amps are a clear upgrade for this unit from stock op amps. I appreciate the help getting there guys.

🙂 Great, I have no doubt (maybe you will be able to find out what the power supply issue on your device looks like, which I asked about earlier, of course, if you find the time, I realize how much fun you are having now  ).
