Kicking the can down the road here...sounds like it will be a decent price for what you're getting, though, and exactly the kind of portable amp I'm looking for. Just gonna keep waiting.

Same. Having a flagship DAC and interchangeable DAC + AMP and being able to switch the power between battery and DC for the price is a no-brainer !

I want the ROHM DAC, I hope they offer that option, in my experience most products that offer options never really sell those. They market like you can get modules later on but the modules are never available. I hope xDuoo does better.

I hope so too. I'm interested in the Rohm DAC because it's something different (and I don't really care for ESS). But I remember the Fiio Q5 and its modules and how inconsistently available those were...

The new ES9039 Pro seems to be quite a winner though and maybe even better than the ROHM...

The new ES9039 is better than Rohm DAC, have tried everything.

Rohm chip is quite difficult to integrate, and the sound is nothing special.

The price in China for the XD-05 PRO is 4,880 CNY, which is about 680-700 USD. A Fiio M17 is about 1,700-1,800 USD, at least in Europe and the US. I sincerely hope the XD-05 PRO is nearer the former.

And their price is in competing range, for the module changeable feature, I will get XD-05 PRO
for sure.
however it is not clear about selection of Amp module.

That makes sense - apologies. The ES9039 and ROHM DAC modules should be available at launch. AK4499 is in testing and I've seen mention of an R2R module and Cirrus Logic module at a later date. Whether these actually appear, given all the delays, is anyone's guess!

An R2R module will be a game changer if Xduoo do release it.

I really hope they don't give up on making the modules. It really depends on how well the device is received IMO.

Exactly. I will get one when it is available for US market.
