XBox 360, Wii, or PSP?

Get a Wii; the new Super Smash Bros. Brawl is out early/mid December, and with online play....

I know that will get better over time due to the ridiculously high console sales, but by that time you can probably afford a Wii as a second system anyway

Okay; well, I guess I'll remove the PSP from the list then. I thought it'd be fun for when I travel (about three or four times a year) and I figured it was something I could use at home- but I can use a 360 or a Wii with the fiance, so - that wins over.

I'm still having some difficulty with the Wii versus 360. The suggestions here seem to heavily emphasize the 360 - but it costs almost $100 more - so I would imagine if I picked the Wii I'd get three games to go with it, where as if I got the 360, I'd get one (Halo, Halo, Halo, Halo!!!). The biggest thing against the Wii is really that the games seem a lot more kid friendly and less adult oriented -- but I tihink my fiance is more likely to play them with me that way. I tried to get her to play Halo with me on the regular XBox once - and she tried - but she couldn't master the controls. She ran around in circles looking at the ceiling... she was so confused. It was really quite funny to watch.

Now I think she's a bit embarassed (she's reading this as I write it)

Because the PS3 is overpriced, and because the two systems that have the games I'm the most interested in are the XBOX 360 and the Wii.

If your fiance is a big factor and she's a casual gamer, get the Wii. It's a fun console and nearly everyone loves it.

For me personally, I'll probably end up with a Wii as I play the PC for serious gaming. My brother left with his xbox360 a few months ago and I haven't really missed it as I still stick to PC all the time. If the console will be your hardcore gaming machine, the 360 is still the obvious choice.

--360 has the larger lineup of games so keep that in mind.
--Wii has great games ONLY for Wii such as Metroid Prime, Zelda, and Mario.
--PSP No. Maybe it's just not for me. Those games take FOREVER to load and are loud as hell.
--Nintendo DS Lite is great IMO.

So, unless you're really into the Nintendo titles previously mentioned, definitely get the 360. Or if you want portable, maybe check the DS Lite as an alternative to the PSP.

Metroid Prime and Zelda are major attractions for the Wii to be honest, and I think my girlfriend will really like using Wii Sports with me -- and I would really like to play games with her.

But on the flipside the games for the 360 seem so much cooler to me. Ugh!

Anyone here play games with their significant other and their significant other is not a gamer?

Well considering the technology, flexibility and games on the 360 it makes it a no brainer for the extra $100. With Live Arcade your girlfriend can still play all those "cute" games that girls like to play and you can play with her. Two birds with one stone! Not to mention that the 360 gets stronger by the day and your dollar return becomes that much better. Do the right thing man. If you get a Wii and then you go play a 360 somewhere your gonna be like "Bananas I totally screwed up.".

I would have been an Xbox 360.
Even if I am a Microsoft hater of all my heart!
