Hey. Im going to upgrade from my crappy Audigy 2 value + yamaha prologic integratedamp to better quality source. I have Grado SR225, so my headphones are not exactly power hungry. Thats why im asking if i should get Soundblaster X-Fi Elite Pro which has a good DAC and overall components. IIRC, the breakoutbox also has headphone amplifier which uses some similar components to Grado RA-1 amplifier.

Or should i save money now and get X-Fi Extreme Music which has bit inferior DAC and overall components, no breakoutbox, and spend more money later for External Dac and Headphone Amp like Creek OBH21 and so on, ending up costing more money than Elite Pro. Im not going away from Grado/Alessandro headphones, not yet anyway, so would Elite Pro be better choice or would there be "dramatic improvement" in soundquality in external device combination over Elite Pro + breakoutbox.
