I've got ASIO working via creatives ASIO driver in foobar, but I notice all these settings in audio creation mode, next to the main volume bar for asio:

Front L/R
Rear L/R
Front c/sub etc.

Should only front L/R be lit up when using headphones? (x-fi-->number cruncher dac-->amp--> dt770).

How about 5.1 speakers?

Anyone messed around with these, I'm not too familiar with it.

Do you have anything plugged into:
Rear L/R
Front c/sub
?
If not just mute those strips.

Those are just virtual outs. You can control the routing in the ASIO tab of the Audio Creation mixer. By default, they are assigned to the channels that they imply. For headphones, Front L/R are what you want.

Also, be careful with ASIO, I've found some... odd problems with it. In Sonar I get some weird lag or speedups (varies) upon starting a bounce from an external synthesizer. If your app supports it, stick with WDM KS as it seems to be error free.
