I've heard that the X-DAC v3 has flabby bass? How bad is it? Or is it only bad compared to the DAC-1.

Is it no longer a problem when the X-PSU is added to the setup?

Most tube amps have problems with deep well defined bass, but a larger Tx might help indeed. Also you could change the output caps to some better ones, wich will improve bass also.

The X-PSU really couldn't make much difference in the bass response of a DAC.

In general, a better and bigger tx has better grip on the tubes and better low frequency control.

If the psu doesn't make a difference, try replacing the caps for better ones.

The X-Dac V3 does not have tubes, and a beefier PSU like the Little Pinkie does tighten the bass as well as helping during very dynamic transients. Modding it will also help to further improve it.

You're right. You can add the tube addon and the extra Tx addon. Here goes a mith that only tubes suffer from low frequency responce!

As said before, add the Tx and mod the dac, both will help.
