I just heard the canamp on a meet in denmark this weekend, and it sounded very good with my ath w1000. Sweet, smooth and effortless and it broadened the w1000 soundstage a lot compared to the rega ear I come from!
Now my question is will the x-can v8 give me even more! of course it is more expensive, but it can be bought in denmark with a return policy and I could occasionally need the usb-dac!
I have been searching for an amp for the last year, but decided first to spend money on cleaning up my power supply. That done I have no excuse not to upgrade my amp anymore! My cd is an Rega apollo and w1000 is my primary headphone though i would like to be able also to listen to hd650 and atrio m5.
Primary consern is smooth unfatiquing sound and the feeling of beeing present at the recording.
- of and I want it to be up and running after 15 minutes at the most and i guess the means that x-can v8 is the only tube amp possible as it can be left on all the time.
