Greetings, I've just recently stumbled upon your great community after i was unable to get any help from local forums in Germany. hope you guys can help.
I'm addressing an issue that probably plagues every IEM user out here: Poor cables and cable-breaks as well as lack of alternatives for the apple inline remote
Objective: Sourcing IEM cables (/w and w/o inline remote) with good price-performance ratio and sturdiness for In-Ears and Headsets
I've been looking to replace the cables of several IEMs with cables that offer a better bang for the buck. Meaning either better and sturdier cables for the money or simply cheaper cables.
current status:
I've been replacing cables from the original manufacturer such as the UE super-fi cables (prone to cable-breaks) as well as "de-capitating" original apple iphone earphones just to get a decent headset with a good inline remote. After doing this for a while I've found it very uneconomical and I have been searching for alternatives ever since.
current options:
CAT-5 Ethernet Cable:
pro: Good cable, inexpensive
con: not really suited for IEM due to diameter and weight
Buying bulk cheapo earphones
pro: easy and quick
con: cheap quality
as for the headset:
Buying cheap iphone headset clones (going rate about 10 USD i believe)
pro: easy and quick
con: cheap quality? not very economical
solution?
hoping for a vivid discussion
thanks
