Hello,

I just started putting my PPA v2 amplifier together, and I apparently overlooked the dimensions of a few components. I'm wondering if just bending the leads to make them fit will be a bad idea.

For R21, R22, R32, and R32, I ordered Mouser part 282-220. These resistors are too big for the space provided on the PPA board.

For R6L/R, I ordered Digi-Key part P470KCACT-ND. These resistors are about half the size of the spaces on the board.

Both of these resistors have same resistance as specified in the PPA v2 schematic, which was the only criteria given on tangent's site. So I assume it will be fine to bend the leads to fit them in?

For the 0.01 uF C2 caps, I ordered Digikey part BC2180-ND. The leads on these are 5mm apart. I'll have to bend them to 10mm apart to fit on the PPA board. Will it be okay to use these, or should I order some larger sized caps?

In general, when only component spec is given in a schematic, how do you know what other specs are important when choosing parts?

Thanks.

for the first bit: r21,22,31,32 these dont need to be power resistors, which is what you got. most any good quality metal film will be good.

R6: no problemo. there is NO power in this part.

I would recommend bigger caps.

Thanks for the reply.

Why would you recommend bigger caps?

Which resistor would you choose for R21, R22, R32, and R32: RN55D2200FB14 or RN55C2200BRE6?

There is no need of spending extra bucks on 0.1% ones instead of 1% one.

1% will be more than enough.
