Wrong choice?

Personally I'd take the Beyerdynamic DT770/80 over the A700 for gaming, but my favourite gaming headphone is the Sennheiser HD555. The only problem with the HD555 is that they are an open can. By the way, welcome to Head-fi, sorry about your wallet!

Thanks for the further comments and suggestions, I`m looking into every phone mentioned. . From the looks of it, I may be spending a little more than I thought

Probably have to sell the Pioneers to help offset the cost. I really like the look of these, and would like to have a set that looked kinda`similar ....Thanks all!

I preferred the A500 to the DT220 (kinda similar to the DT770) for gaming.

Get your son a pair of JVC Marshamalow IEM for $15 - $20.00 and he will be happy and you can use the full size headphones for yourself.
