The first thing i'd do is replace the stock DIP-8 op-amps with a socket!

I own both the pc-150 and the pc-90, and I enjoy both of them very much. I've heard the pc-200 is noticeably better than the 150, so I might be upgrading soon!

They use a variant of the same controller chip used in the Chaintech AV-710, so yes, they should.

The difference is that Envy24HT chips in the Onkyo cards have a better analog interface than the Envy24HT-S in the AV-710. The AV-710 taps the Wolfson dac off of the digital interface instead, giving it 24/96 analog output instead of 20/48. So, at the driver level, both cards should behave identically. Don't take my word for it as this is just an educated guess.

MCC is right.
As far as I know of, the onkyo card uses Via driver.
Those caps are nichicons, sanyos and elnas. Thick copper shielding in the middle. One of best consumer level sound card for music listening. Its sound is warm and comfy due to ON-semi 5532 OP (I think). You may replace it with DIP8 IC socket, and put other OP instead of it, then that will change sound signature quite a bit.
