what the poster above said...Im going to assume the Alpha Dogs will be as hard or harder to drive,but I havent read any specs on it yet.

IMO the Mad Dogs need a stronger amp for it to shine

The e12 is a solid choice, I guess... Do you actually need the DAC of say an e07k?

Okay... Why not buy a portable amp, and then get something like the hifimediy DAC for home, should be really good budget DAC. Your iPhone can't use a DAC anyway. Which iphone are we talking?

For the sake of simplicity i said iphone but i have an ipod touch 4th genoration.

Ok the combo of the e12 and e9 is a little more than i was looking to spend bit i guess it would be worth it.

You shouldn't get the e9, I see no reason for that? Just use the e12 as amp, and get a cheap but good DAC for home or something. I suggest the hifimediy sabre DAC.
Also, take my recommendation with a grain of salt. I am not expert in portable amps, there might be something better for you out there.
