Hi,
 
just recently I've decided to get myself new headphones and after spending some time on the internet I've managed to come up with these: Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 and Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250.
 
Since now I've only had a chance to try couple headsets which I never really liked (SS Siberia series and couple others). I gotta say Siberia's headsets are comfy as hell which is part of the reason I'd like to go with DT 770's.
 
I mainly listen to EDM, but I don't mind little bit of everything expect rap. Part of the reason I'd like to go with DT 770's is the fact that they sound really well especially while listening to EDM (so I was told).
 
As title says I'd really like to know if my motherboard (ASRock Z77 Extreme4) would be "strong" enough to power these? I've already come across couple articles on the internet, but none of them really gave me the answer that I'm looking for.
 
Would I need an AMP? If so, would FiiO E11 be a good choice? Is it really worth the money? Thank you!

I think an amp would power the Beyerdynamics much better than the motherboard's onboard audio.
 
I don't have experience with the FiiO e11, but are you sure you want a potable amp? If you are using the headphones at your computer, a desktop amp may be better for you.

Well that's the thing. Since I'm pretty much new to this it's somewhat difficult for me to decide what to get. Any tips on desktop amp?

Those headphones are 250 ohms & 96 dB sensitivity. You really should have an amp. However, Beyer also makes these headphones in 32 ohm and 80 ohm versions. They should all sound very similar, but the lower impedance 'phones will be much easier to drive.

I love my Schiit Asgard 2. Powers my 250 ohm Beyerdynamics great. Versatile enough for many other headphones too.
 
And I think the 80 ohm DT770's still benefit a lot from an amp, despite their lower impedance.

Look around the Schiit website a bit, there are cheaper options, too.
