I am relativly new to portable music. I am currently owning a Cowon A2 and the Monolith MX-7000. I use them mostly with UE Super.fi 5 pros (but think about getting UE 10 pros or Shure 500E). I bought the In Ears used together with a small selfmade CMOY amp. After my first tests with the CMOY left me unimpressed I put the amp aside. But when I went through this forum notecing so many poeple using headphone amps I gave it another try and to my surprise I ended up hearing things I did not notice before.
So here my question, would I benefit from a better amp (lets say a Hornet) ans some real good cables? It would be quite an investment so I would like to make sure beforehand.

If you're earing things with the CMOY that you didn't hear without, then I would suspect that you'll end up appreciating a better amp. Now that I am feeding my RSA SR-71 with a reasonable source, I am smitten with that amp and feel that it's worth every penny. YMMV
Happy listening!
