Is older Dell XPS Studio that has integrated THX TruStudio. I see a lot of USB microphones out there, wondering if they offer any advantages over my 3.5mm input?

It's the desktop XPS model, but yes am using mic with 3.5 and wonder if a usb mic could be any better?
