Worthy Of Consideration: ANC(Active Noise Cancellation) on the Road

OK, but isolation fails at the rate of 6dB/octave with decreasing frequency, if
you ignore resonances. That 20dB you get at 250hz will be more like nothing
below 30Hz. LF isolation is a $$/dB ratio.

Understood. But I don't need my car speakers - even a sub - attempting to reproduce tones to even partially cancel out sub-100Hz engine rumble while performing their primary task of presenting Jimmy Garrison or John Paul Jones during my ride to work or to a weekend flea market.

I possess a strong 'expectation bias' while in moving vehicles: the expectation that some extraneous noise will intrude upon my enjoyment of my music or spoken word program. Therefore, such interference bothers me significantly less than it bother most folks, especially the inevitable audiophile.

I can tolerate some engine hum and road noise while my vehicle speakers perform their primary role: music repro, not anti-farts.
