I am kind of having a hard time deciding of whether I should get a pair of XB500s. I recently bought a pair of HFI 780s and I love them for trance music, but I also want to have something more portable and fun to use. At that point, I looked back to the XB series. I thought about getting the XB700s, but I'm too cheap to get them for 70-80 USD. Would you say it's worth it for me to pick up some XB500s since I already have my HFI-780s? Thanks.
 
Oh and I can get them for $27 refurbished.

Well... you are kind of downgrading in a sense. If all you want is big bass and nothing else then it is good idea. But the SQ will be pretty bad compared to the 780's you have. But then again, it's only $27 dollars.

I've tried the XB700s before and the clarity was pretty good. If the 500s are comparable, I will think more about buying them. Of course, I won't expect them to be as good as my 780s.

For me personally the HFI-780s were my go-to fun headphone and the XB500s replaced them... it's the in the car oomph within the privacy of your own head.
