Hi there,

I have a 5.5G 30GB rockboxed iPod with a Barqy LOD.

Is it worth changing sources or do they all sound just about the same as my setup?

Different setups sound differently. Where from the LOD do you go? Which amp and headphones? That changes sound, too. And the DAP changes things. If you kept everything the same, but used a Cowon S9 (changing to the appropriate LOD or HP out if no Line out), then it would sound different.

The real question is if you are happy with the sound your setup gives. If yes, then it is not worth changing. If no, then start researching different amps, players, headphones, and whatnot. Maybe you only need to change the amp or headphone to get what you want.

If your current setup is not making you happy, there's that iRiver H120 path. But it's gonna be bulkier as a portable rig
