For the Linux Users here, i noticed that all Applications that use GStreamer (which are all GNOME Applications and KDE if you decide for GStreamer as an Phonon Backend) have worse Sound Quality.

Afair they even opened a bug report now but if anyone here is using Linux to listen to music, _don't_ use GStreamer.

If you're on KDE, make sure that your Backend is libvlc and if you use GNOME, use VLC as music Player, dont use Rhythmbox or "Music" or whatever uses GStreamer.

A friend of mine even thought he had driver issues with his DAC or that it just sounds that way until i told him to not use Rhythmbox and he was suprised, how sound quality drastically improved.
