I have a fascination with Malian music. Malian guitars seem to have a lot of the precursor sounds of the American Blues
Fatoumata Diawara is special as is this great artist

Talking about Malian music,
here's a collaboration between 4 amazing musicians from India and a kora player from Mali

Rokia Traoré's voice is enchantingly beautiful. Thanks for that.
Can you hear the heavy bass on Fatoumata Diawara's "Sowa"? What strikes me is her bravery in choosing to insert silence on the track "Sowa", but not just short silence but prolonged silence and it works well. Supreme timing!

Just beautiful. Fusion at its best, two worlds seamlessly woven together.
