Brainwavz Hm5 angled pads really added nice bass to the 300

Can you describe the difference in bass? These appear to have a graph with slightly stronger sub bass (a weak point in many open cans). However while they lack a troubling HE-300 high mid peak, they have got one higher up and another higher still. The higher end peaks are way above the highest point in the bass. That worries me. Did the angled pads you used warm the treble up a bit?

I'd love to hop on these because I haven't heard the He-300, and a dynamic Hifiman sounds pleasent to me. Unfortunately I already ordered the K7xx, I own the He-400, and need some cash lying around for when the Thx00 in Mahogany come back. Looks like I'll have to pass :/ Looking forward to some reviews in August :3

  If you could get Senn HD598 for $90 (thanks to Jet cash I have saved up) or these for the $100 which would you go with?  

This is all I want to know.  I have the 598's at work and use the K7xx at home... but for 100 bucks this has my interest peaked.

There are a lot of people asking for he same on the massdrop forum but no answers. There seems to be only 1 guy who doesn't work for massdrop that has these cans and I didn't see any comments from him re 598 comparison.

They're like on sale for $60 every other week on Newegg. Seems like the normal price now. Lowest I saw was ~$45.
