So after three days of fighting with FedEx delivery. The newest addition to my collection (bad word) has finally arrived.

This set has come from tyrion all the way over in Florida.

Let the picture story begin... :

Okay the family is all together - Hit Costco the other day and picked up the very industrial, but very stable rack. Who can name all the stuff?

Okay now we are getting ready for something now. The WE 300B's are in there now. I didn't want to risk them with the first power up.

Giving the K1000's a little go right now. Been up and running for about 45 minutes now. They don't (never have) done everything that I want out of a headset, but there is something that is just correct about the sound to me. I think that it really has to deal with that they are just speakers that float around your head. There is no isolation, light on bass, but still create a great soundstage and lovely music.


I spent a little bit of time with L3000's and, I must say, I will be spending a lot of time with those on my head. The 300B pushing the 3000's are a great combo. The ultra rich and detailed mid range is almost overwhelming at times. And this amp is able to hold a very nice bass line. Very fun combo.


Well I am going to listen for a while. I am sure I will have some changes as it warms up and I play around with some combinations.

Great set of photos. Thanks. So was the amp new? Seems like a fairly new design to be moving on so fast. The WE's should be a nice addition for the 300B lineup. Next try some NOS 300B's. The black glass, I assume Tungsol 6SN7's are one of my favorite in that family. Someday I would like to hear the AKG1000's and with your equipment they must be a joy. I can't imagine getting much better mids.

I believe that Mike said that the WA5 was about 6 month old or so with a couple of upgrades. Vcaps I think.

I have been reading various reviews of some 300B combinations, I will spend some time with the WE for now though.

The K1000's were from tyrion as well. It was a WA5/AKG set. Worked the right price, and there you have it. Monster package deal, and no waiting for a amp build. I am giving my bank account CPR, but, oh well, at least I can relax to some good tunes between paychecks.
