17 months after taking delivery of the WA6 SE it continues to sound excellent. I ran it with the stock tubes for a few weeks before ordering the Sophia Princess. After burning in the princess tube, then amp really opened up and provided more clarity than before. I find that th e sound is even better through my Beresford 7510 DAC. Yes, it is a cheap DAC and does color the sound (like any other DAC), but it really adds the 'lively' factor to my music collection.

Nice to see you around here once again BC

I think the amp's longevity in terms of enjoyment speaks for itself.....there is no doubt the 6SE is a best in class perennial recommendation around these parts (and elsewhere I'm willing to bet). I sure would like to get my hands on a balanced tube amp of similar qualities someday.

Peete.

What are the advantages of having a separate power supply (as in the case of the WA6SE) over an upgraded PDPS in the WA6?

(For Grado HF-2s)

Thanks
