Would welcome any advise on these amps for the HD800. Is the WA6 (2nd gen) sufficient or does it really need to be the SE?

If you don't have any low impedance headphones I'd just go with the WA3. Otherwise the SE is just a bit of a bonus above the performance of the WA6 until you get to their other transformer coupled amp.

Might be too late to that but I think you can spend your money better than buying a woo audio product. Schiit Valhalla 2 is one of the popular favourites for the HD800.
