I love it too, it sounds even way better when you replace those stock tubes with NOS tubes.
Which tubes are your favorites?

Now for a happier question...

Did anyone notice a considerable sound difference/improvement from upgrading their rectifier tube? I'm leaning towards a 596, EML, or maybe one of the Linlai WE replicas.

Also, which tubes have you noticed make the biggest impact on sound when upgraded? I'm guessing the 6080s? I'd love to add an even more pronounced "tube" sound to my setup.

Thanks!
Very happy with this current set up and the sound is sublime.

USAF 596 as rectifier.
Tung Sol 5998 as power tubes
Melz 1578 ( 6SN7) as driver tubes

Very nice!

Did you notice a considerable difference between the 596 and the stock rectifier? And with all of them versus the stock set? Haven't tube rolled yet, so I'm not sure what to expect.

Thanks :)

Yes, all tubes make a difference but rectifiers probably make the biggest difference IMO. For more of a tube sound right now I'm listening to a GEC U52 rectifier and Type 76 input tubes with Raytheon 6080WA power tubes and I'm getting lovely tube sound with plenty of detail and dynamics.

Can’t wait to hear what you decide on and some of your opinions. The rectifier choices for compatibility are terrific. Lots to choose from and believe it or not the rectifier because the WA 22 is an all tube design can change the sound. 😳

Hi friends. I got a pair of Sylvania Loctals (7N7) non “bad boy” release. These are the later release version that are slightly higher spec.
Long story short. I love these driver tubes and they are thee best 6SN7 equivalents I’ve ever used. Unbelievable treble. In fact, for my tastes I’d say it is perfect.

I highly recommend these driver tubes and if anyone else is using Loctals in their WA22 please share your experience with me. I’m really happy with my current edition of these. Having a great set of tubes really confirms just how awesome and elite sounding the WA22 is. 😎✌️

I like the 7N7s, nice and well-rounded with plenty of high end energy.

If I recall, they’re all made by Sylvania, I think they held the patent on the loctal connector.
