I was a first adopter of the tube mini and had mixed results with it. I purchased the base. I cannot say enough good things about it (paired with Fostex TR-X00)…it’s proved to be ridiculously solid & immersive in sound quality. I haven’t heard better…perfect for my work space. The sound envelops you.

Totally agree, that base is a game changer… I have also been playing with upsampling with it to DSD128 with HQ Player, and I have to say that also had a significant benefit, might be worth trying if you don’t already use it… The base was a bigger improvement tho, it’s really fantastic!

I use with tube mini with dca expanse,
Excellent sound!
I am surprised every time how well this little guy pushes the exspanse and he does it absolutely well.
Waiting to receive the power base to complete the experience.

Thinking of getting the tube mini for my DCA Expanse's as well. Currently using a Questyle M15C, and even though it's a bit louder than then M15i, it's still very underwhelming for the Expanse's. Or maybe a Cayin C9 if I can find a good used one.

Both the Mini Tube and the C9 are great amps,
The Mini Tube will give a more tube-like sound that compliments the Expanse,
The C9 has its virtues, an amazing amp,
Of course it's not a desktop amp, etc.
But I'm not one of those who are sure that without a crazy speaker amp you don't reach the potential, I think you can really enjoy the Expanse even with these portables,
Of course it's a matter of taste and personal preference.
