Looks like WA6SE has gone through some changes since last year, most significant being the changes made to make it more friendly with Sophia Princess. Here are some pics of mine built 2/09. If you have some internal pics of older versions, please post them here for comparison. Any comments on the latest iteration?

Edit: Added some external shots.

I remember the original mod to make the SE more compatible with the Sophia Princess had a separate breadboard for the relay circuit in the power supply. It looks much better now with everything on the same board. Much more professional

Very nice pics, I opened up my 6SE received some days ago and it look exactly the same, beautiful. Beside the built differs of the older version, if anyone could also post some internal pics of a maxed 6SE to compare would be very nice.

Found an older thread with some good internal shots.

If you look at the top 1st and 3rd pics by Takezo, you can see there are two larger blue caps, whereas in my pic they have been replaced by a single black cap lying down on its side. Can anyone with more technical understanding speculate as to the significance of the change?

Very nice clean work.
The insides of my Fisher look like a rat's nest hit by shrapnel in comparison.

Thanks peanuthead, I found that also, but I would prefer if someone is nice enough to share some internal pics of a Maxed WA6SE to see what and how Jack was worked out there.

Apparently someone else asked Jack and here's the explanation, although it's beyond my comprehension.

"The reason to replace 2 150u/350v to a single 47u is due to a power supply enhancement. Originally, the 6SE used AC heater and it needed a larger cap value to reduce hum. A better solution to reduce hum is through DC heater, which is what the current implement is for. DC heater does not require large value and the 150u would only cause side effect; however, a correct value is a must in this place."
