I emailed David over at Woo Audio about upgrades to the WA3 non + (as I need the preamp functions) and he said he offers a Blackgate output capacitors upgrade. I was curious how much of a difference this would make and if anyone has one of these units with the upgrade? Originally I wanted a Woo 2 but unfortunately it is out of my price range.

I read on Wikipedia Blackgate being noted as one of the highest rated capacitiors and some claiming the best upgrade in HiFi audio.

But it also says Blackgates degrade over time just as any electrolytic capacitor.

My question, what is the life expectancy of capacitors? Cause I read on Wikipedia, Blackgates stopped production in 2006 and right now, its old stock that is being being sold.
