I'm currently in that position again, where I have to decide what to pick!

I'm currently have a cowon D2 as my source, headsave classic as my amp, with earphones - shure e2c and headphone Beyerdynamic DT 990.

So here's the thing, should I pick:
Super fi 5 + Ibasso D2 Boa = $350
or
Used predator = $450

Keeping in mind my amp sounds like a corda move, which one should I get? I'm looking for more satisfaction in my rig.

Thanks for the quick reply, hmmm. Does a DAC have a huge significance on the sound of music compard to an amp?

Yeah, I think the DAC plays a huge part of it all, no doubt, but it all depends on your budget. If you could, get yourself a quality USB DAC as well, but for my money, I'd go for the sexy amp. DACwise, I really like the Keces...great DAC, really good price.

I would not go super fi as they were not resolving and the bass overwhelmed the mids and highs.

For $50 more you could thing about the Pico which would be my nomination for product of last year. If you have a mac I would go apogee duet you ears will thank you

Would a desktop DAC sound better (at about $200) then the pico or predator's dac?

nono... how do u compare a pico dac / predator dac to a desktop amp... cause i mean... desktop amps dont usually come with a dac.

Got to decide soon! Portability isn't that big of an issue to me since the dt 990 cant be brought outside
