Hi there,
I'm looking for WIFI speakers (single, no stereo) for my kitchen, bathroom and garage. I want to stream music/radio/tv to those speakers and prefer the software/apps not to be too restricted. Sound quality should be good, but I want to stay on the lower side of the budget at first.
Since kitchen and bathroom don't require high stuff, I'd settle on a max budget of 200$ roughly.
The options I thought about are:
1. DIY speaker
e.g. "Vifantastisch" of hifi-forum.de which is quite popular (http://bilder.hifi-forum.de/small/656468/vifantastisch-links2_199298.jpg)
Downside is that these are rather large, need an AMP (e.g. class T bluetooth), are difficult to turn on automatically, etc on the other hand it's the most flexible option.
2. Standalone speaker + Chromecast Audio
Downside: also difficult to auto turn on, but again very flexible
3. Chromecast speaker (https://www.google.com/chromecast/built-in/audio/)
All-in-one solution, seems to be very flexible when supported by chromecast, compact, nice designs
I currently tend towards (3) as it's the cleanest solution. However, I'm unsure so I wanted to ask what you would take into account
for this decision.
Looking forward to your input!
