Whenever I try to view Wmv, Asf or Asx movie online the movie play back at half the normal speed. (Everything is slow and the voice sound weird.) I've tried everything from upgrading to wmp10 and downloading codec package 6.4 and 9.

for example, the ipod flea video:

I've got this problem before but now I cant fix it.

Terry, have you considered that WMP uses many of Internet Explorer's settings? Try turning off your spyware, firewall, try decreasing your security level and restoring IE defaults. Good luck!

Hyperthreading is known to mess up audio and video applications so you can try to disable it in your BIOS (if you have it) and see if that fixes the problem

...it worked for me on this craptop at least...

Playback speed set to 1/2 in WMP10?
Just get the bottom panel to the playback speed menu and get it to 1.0.

Last night I was having problems with my dvd player software. The tech support guy told me to delete all my temp files and reinstall the software. Maybe the same can help you? Greetings Terrymx!
