I've tried several programs to rip my CD collection to a new 250gb portable hard drive so I can take it to work. I started out using Winamp to rip them into .flac but after the first few CDs it quit recognizing the disc, I researched and apparently it's a known issue with version 5.5. So I moved to Windows Media Player 11. I really like the way it finds the album art and track info quickly and I felt the .wmv format works well. I really like having the album art, I use the album view feature in Winamp.

However, there are a few discs that I previously ripped to MP3s that will not rip again. As soon as I load the disc it shows "ripped to library" and the rip button is grayed out. I have been looking and looking for something on this kind of issue and keep coming up with nothing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

or if you are converting just to mp3, use foobar and the LAME mp3 encoder

LAME MP3 Encoder

Please dump winamp and windows media player already

Thanks for posting the EAC setup tutorial. I need to breakdown and learn EAC better, I did download it but fell victim to the easiness of Windows Media Player especially after looking at all the features/options of EAC
