I saw a thread a long time ago, but I reformatted my computer but now I don't remember what program I installed that allowed me to play FLAC on WMP.

It was very organized, any ideas what I did before?

Have you considered using media monkey for your music? It's superior to Windows Media Player IMO. But I did use Windows Media player to tag my MP3 files. But now I use MP3Tag to do such functions, mainly for my FLAC files. I don't use Windows Media Player anymore.

I use media monkey to tag and organise all my tracks for all formats, I haven't found anything that can beat it. However, for play back I can't recommend Foobar highly enough. Just my two cents, I know the post wasn't directed at me

I tried foobar but couldn't get it to work properly doing bit for bit playback while media monkey doesn't give me any issues with this on both WASAPI and ASIO. I don't like how Media Monkey tags so I prefer to do it manually via MP3tag which does it exactly how I like it. I'm very anal on how I like things organized. I don't like periods in the song and I like to have it numbered accordingly ( Example: 09 Never Gonna Say I'm Sorry).

"I'm very anal on how I like things organised" - Everybody is, I definitely am.

It's a shame you couldn't get Foobar to work. It may be worth giving it another go.

Can I see flac files in library with this method, or only play them?

Nothing beats  windows media player image quality, for video playback on a Hdtv, but for audio I`m a bit sceptic..

I actually never put my files in library. Usually I go all the way to the original file where the music is stored. I have too many labels on all different folders. But If anyone is interested it's really a quick install for you to try!

Correction, you can't put it in library but it still works for me. There are ways to put it in the library but I'm too lazy haha

For video playback I use Total Media Theater 3 which has a feature that up-scales your Video using your Graphics cards. I also use VLC Player.
